Privacy policy
Last updated: September 15, 2026
This policy explains what The Munger Company collects, why we collect it, and who else sees it. We have tried to write it in plain language and to describe what actually happens rather than everything the law might allow us to do.
What you send us through this website
The consult form is the only form on this site. When you send it, we receive what you typed into it:
- Your name.
- Your phone number and email address, so that we can reach you back.
- What you are planning — a kitchen, a bathroom, a whole home, an addition, or not sure yet.
- Anything you write in the message box.
The form also records the IP address the message was sent from, which we keep alongside it so we can deal with spam. Your message arrives as an email to info@themungercompany.com and is saved to a log on the same server, which is not reachable from the web.
Sending the form does not sign you up for anything. We do not run a mailing list.
What we collect once we are at the house
Most of what we hold about a client was never typed into this website. It is what a remodeling job needs:
- What you want done, and the measurements, notes and photographs we take while we are there.
- If the job goes ahead: the contract, which carries the address of the property, the schedule, and a record of what has been paid.
That is the whole of it. We do not run credit checks and we do not handle financing applications. Payment is by check or bank transfer — there is no card payment anywhere on this website, and a card number never reaches us.
We collect what we do because you cannot remodel a house without it. We do not collect any of it from people who are only looking at the website.
What this website collects automatically
Less than you are probably used to. This site runs no analytics and no advertising trackers — there is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, and no advertising cookies. It sets no cookies at all, and it stores nothing in your browser.
- Ordinary web server logs — your IP address, the pages requested and the time — kept by the company that hosts the site, and used to keep it running and to stop abuse.
- Every page loads its two typefaces from Google Fonts, so Google may see that a browser requested a page on this site. Everything else on the page — the stylesheet, the one script, the photographs — comes from our own server.
How we use it
- To call or email you back about the project you asked about.
- To arrange a walkthrough and put together an estimate.
- To do the work, order materials, and schedule the trades who work on your house.
- To keep the records a construction contract, its warranty and our taxes require us to keep.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own advertising.
Who else handles your information
Two companies, and only because of how the website itself runs:
- Our hosting and email provider — this website, the inquiry log and the email your message arrives in all sit on their servers, along with the web server logs.
- Google Fonts — serves the two typefaces this site uses, which your browser requests directly from Google.
That is the entire list. The people who work on your house are ours, so your name and address are not passed around a roster of subcontractors, and there is no lender or payment processor in the middle of the job.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our staff, or the safety of others.
Calls, email and text messages
If you send the consult form, we will call you back — that is what the form is for. We do not run a text-message marketing program, we never buy phone numbers, and you will not get automated texts from us. If someone here texts you, it is a person, about your own project, and telling them to stop is enough. You can also call us on (469) 713-6877 and ask.
How long we keep it
Inquiries are kept while we are talking to you and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you come back to us. The records of a job we actually did — the contract, the payments, the photographs — are kept for as long as that contract, its warranty and our tax obligations require.
How we protect it
The site is served over an encrypted connection. The log of inquiries is blocked from the web rather than sitting in a folder anyone could download, and access to the server is limited to the people who run it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise — but we do not keep information we have no use for.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use the details below and we will respond. We cannot delete records we are required to keep, such as a signed contract or the paperwork behind it, for as long as that requirement lasts.
You can also simply not send the form. Nothing on this site collects anything about you until you do.
Children
This website is meant for adults planning work on a house. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us something, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
